i understand, i had the same problem. make sure your doctor is informed that you already take celexa, and then take the haldol if they say it is ok. i personally took haldol, after very unsuccessful trial and error with other medications, and it worked really well for me. the only thing i have found that works well, with low side-affects.
Since my background is in clinical psychology and not medicine, I cannot give you advice regarding whether or not you should take a particular medication. However, I do agree with the person who responded previously that it is very important that you inform your doctor about all medications you are taking.
Also, it is important that you talk to your doctor about any bad experiences or unpleasant side effects you have had with other medications.
Celexa and Haldol are two entirely different medications, and it is not uncommon for someone to be on both an antidepressant and an antipsychotic, depending on his or her symptoms.
Celexa is an SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor). While it is primarily prescribed for depression, it is also used to treat various anxiety disorders.
Haldol is one of the first generation antipsychotics which is still used to treat schizophrenia today. You can refer to the article on Haldol on this site for more information.
As with all medications, there are potential side effects associated with both Celexa and Haldol. Not everyone experiences a medication in the same way, nor does everyone have the same side effects.
The more information you give your doctor, the better he or she can determine the best course of treatment for you.
